BEAUTY REVIEW: DEVACURL 'DEVAFRESH'
where my curly haired ladies at!? 🙋🏻♀️
dealing with curls is definitely a process, am I right? and although there are some women out there that are blessed with the ability to wash their hair everyday, I'm not one of them. If I did I, my hair would not be happy, moreover, who has the time? washing my hair adds an extra 30 minutes to my beauty routine; some days I need that for sleep, and on others, the hustle doesn't allow me the time to even think about sparing that time.
on the flip side, the structure and texture that my curls flaunt on wash day does not last for more than two days after. this leaves me stuck livin' the messy bun life for the rest of the week until it's time to wash again.
anyone else with me?
so when devacurl dropped their product 'devafresh', which is essentially a dry shampoo for curly haired girls to bring life back to our curls, I got super excited. I must admit though, after reading reviews on it from other people, as a lot of us naturally do, I was on the fence about how good it was, or if I even wanted to try it because the reviews were mixed to say the least. but as the old saying goes, 'you never know until you try,' so I went ahead and bought it.
so ladies, I present to you, my devafresh experience:
I start by spraying my edges, front and back. PLEASE shield your face when doing this because I let it hit my face the first time I used it, and I felt like I had a sticky film on my skin the rest of the day.
then I part my hair down the middle and start to go over my scalp followed by spraying the length of my curls.
from there I take each section and divide it in two to cover the rest of my scalp. again, spraying the length of my curls.
I bring my hair all back together and massage my scalp to make sure it's all covered and soaked in and scrunch my curls to give them structure.
last but not least, I check for any remaining sections that still might look a lil' rough and spray and scrunch.
It does give worn out curls texture again, which lasts for about a day or two depending on what you do with your hair (for me it's sweating from working out). all with minimal crunch or hardness like you would normally get from a hairspray or gel, which is definitely a thumbs up in my book!👍🏼
needless to say, I'm happy that I made the decision to buy it so I can avoid the messy bun look for a while longer. 🙂
thanks so much for reading today! this is my honest opinion of this product. I bought it myself, and am not sponsored by devacurl to provide this review.
feel free to hit me up if you have any questions!💕
